I am bummed that it will lose it's nice coloration. I wonder how long it takes to make the transition from juvenile to adult. Eventually I will have to get rid of it. Another example of why it is important to do the research before making a purchase of an unknown species. And I thought I had some cool rare species of wrasse.

Typical growth period of Hogfish's are in approximate 1 to 1 1/2 years. That's when you should expect that fish to start reaching adult size. So you might have to remove him/her earlier as their size will prob be too big for your tank. Unless you get a 500 like I'm planning.

I think I'll start looking for a new home for it as soon as the color begins to change unless it becomes too aggressive before then. It currently shows some mild aggression towards my flame angel who is almost twice as big.
