What type of lights do you have on your tank with the sun polyps because mine are allways closed until 1 hour before everything goes off.

I've nver kept sun polypys before but from what I understand they are not photosynthetic and must be fed meaty foods on a regular basis to maintain health. Most sun polyps remain retracted during daylight hours, except when feeding, and will extend it's polyps for nocturnal feeding.

That is what mine does all the time it kinda sucks because i want to look at him but cant due to no lights and my night lights are not in that section of the tank but i will get it figured out soon and reconstruct my whole tank again. Good luck to you and your sun polyp
