Exclamation I need to empty my tank!! HELP!!!

I decided to get a sump but the problem is I need another 1/2" in back of my tank so I have to empty it and move it forward an 1" or so. My concern is that I already have 4 fish, 2 shrimp and 3 corals so I need to keep as much of the drained water as possible and the only container big enough is my bath tub.
I figure I could clean it really really really well and put my water and live rocks in it and keep my fish in a couple of clean buckets with tank water while I do the deed. Does this sound OK, any suggestions on what to use to clean the tub?
It's a 75 gallon tank, does it have to be completely empty?
I need as much input as possible before doing this as I don't want to hurt my little friends

I definately would not use the bathtub. I dont think it would be possible to get it clean enough to be sure you wouldnt contaminate your water. What i would suggest is multiple five gallon buckets or those 20 gallon storage containers you can get at walmart.
