Default I'm back on-line!!!!

After hurricane WILLLLLLMAAAAA!!!!! I lost power, water and phones. What a mission to save the tanks.... Lost a few fish and only time will till if I lost any corals... Well I've been able to save almost everything, I think?? Thank GOD I had my 375 Watt power inverter and a spare car in the garage. I was able to run the pumps on the tanks while the power was out and seems like I'm gonna make it through without any further loss.

Well it looks like I've been spared again for another season. Wilma brought a lot of rain my way and kicked up some wind for a little while but overall I missed the brunt of the storm. Although after Wilma passed through the temperatures around here dropped by about 20 degrees.

Sorry to hear about your losses. Glad to hear that you had an inverter ready to go. That is one thing I have been slacking on is getting some sort of a backup for my tank. One LFS near me has some nice battery operated air pumps that automatically turn on when the power goes out.

Believe me it was a makeshift setup. Wasn't planned that way. But now I'm going to purchase a battery charger, 2 - 12 volt marine batteries, a housing, and a 1000W inverter. My own battery backup system.

Yeah from what I have read, the deep cycle marine batteries are the way to go.
