Deep Sea Fishing

Well I was supposed to go deep sea fishing today. I woke up at 4:00 AM and drove 30 miles to where the boat launches from. We got there about a half an hour early and sat there wondering why we were the only people at the docks waiting when it is 40 degrees outside. After waiting for almost an hour we decided to call and come to find out the trip was cancelled due to rough seas. Apparrently I missed the message. :( The trip has been rescheduled for Wednesday, so hopefully I'll have some good photos to show off later this week.

Sorry to take so long to reply to all of the threads today. I went deep sea fishing today and caught 4 36" sharks, 3 10" sea bass, some small red snappers and grunts. The snapper and grunts were below regulation size and had to be thrown back. I only kept one shark because I don't see myself eating all four of them. Anyways, I cooked up all of the sea bass and made some shark stew for dinner. A nice end to a long day. Wish I would have caught more fish though.

Here is what I brought home -

Nice catch... If your ever in the S. Florida area and want to catch some real big Sharks look me up. Our (family) average that we catch down here is 300+ lbs.

Teeka01 03-07-2006 10:51 PM

That is way too big for me. LOL

D12monkey 03-07-2006 10:55 PM

It's way to big when we have to get in to revive the shark after the battle or they would die.

We do sports fishing off of bridges.

Yikes! 300 lbs. That's a lot of shark steaks! :p
What kind of sharks? You can usually catch hammerheads and blacktips around here.

D12monkey 03-07-2006 11:16 PM

We've caught tigers, lemons, white tip, black tip, bonnethead hammers, and various others out there including nurse sharks.
