I have a 29 gal bio cube, it has been up and running for over a year. I have it stacked with lr and ls. I have lots of mushrooms and are doing really well allthoe my water quality is getting poor so I bought the new fission protein skimmer. well I have not had much luck with it working I have tryed adjusting it differently many times and no luck. No ucky foam going into the cup and all I get is a tank with micro bubbles. I really should get a skimmer on it but there is no other pratical skimmer for the biocube can someone help me.

i have a 15 biocube and tryed the fission and got some wet scudge in my cup after 2 days or so ,,, but the bubbles were every where. so i bought the seaclone 100 and set it on the tank so it pulls from the main tank and returns to the return section of the filter. i had to increase the flow of the filter by using a bigger pump to keep up with the load, i also put some sponge on the outlet of the seaclone to reduce the bubbles. im happy with the results, ive had a baseball sized acro (growing) in it for over six months
your 29 gal is bigger and may fit the seaclone better than mine, my tank has no hood, so you will have cut your hood to make it fit
all that said, it is probly less work just to increase the frequency of the water change
